I recently upgraded the operating system on this laptop from Mojave, to Catalina, which could very well be a cause of this malfunction, but I am concerned that ti may just be something wrong with the external drive itself, which is new, not rebuilt / used / refurbished.
When I plug the device into the USB ports on the laptop, it does turn on, and light up, but when I place a disk into it, it waits a few seconds, and then ejects the disk. Hello all, it has been a long while since i posted a question here, but i recently bought a used Macbook Pro laptop that does not have an installed CD / DVD drive in it, and I cannot get a plug and play external drive to work correctly in its stead. MacOS Monterey has various new features for the Mac, including Facetime screen sharing, Facetime grid view for group chats, changes to Safari tabs and Safari interface, Live Text for text selection in images, Universal Control for using a mouse and keyboard across a Mac and iPad, Quick Notes for apps, Low Power Mode for Mac laptops, Shortcuts.
